North Side — Lincoln Park & Lakeview (8–16.5K) flat
Lincoln Park and Lakeview are the fastest, loudest kilometres of the loop, which is exactly the danger. Lock the split to the table here — enthusiasm spent before 16 km gets subtracted after 34.

Back to downtown — Wells Street (16.5–22K) flat
Wells Street leads back into tower shadow, so the watch drifts again just as the halfway mats arrive. Take the official half split as the truth and correct gently, never suddenly.
